3 Fun & Free-ish Things To Do in Toronto This Weekend (April 17-19, 2026)

If you're looking for things to do in Toronto this weekend that actually feel worth leaving the house for - here are three that hit differently.
From one of the most celebrated days in music culture to a free sustainable fashion festival and a community market rooted in Filipino culture - this weekend has a little something for everyone, and none of it is generic.

Record Store Day @ Sonic Boom
Location: Sonic Boom, 215 Spadina Ave
Date & Time: Saturday, April 18, 2026 ยท Opens early at 8:00 AM
Once a year, independent record stores around the world do something magic - and Toronto's Sonic Boom is one of the best places on earth to experience it.
Record Store Day brings over 250 exclusive vinyl releases to Sonic Boom's shelves - limited pressings, rare reissues, and special editions you genuinely cannot get anywhere else. It's the kind of day where collectors queue around the block before the doors open, crate diggers lose track of time, and casual music fans leave with something they didn't know they needed until they held it.
Even if you're not a hardcore vinyl collector, the energy of Record Store Day is worth showing up for. Sonic Boom has been a cornerstone of Toronto's music community for 25 years and this is one of their biggest days of the year. Walk in, flip through the crates, and you'll understand why physical music still matters.
๐ Great for: music lovers of any genre, vinyl collectors, anyone who wants to start their Saturday somewhere with genuine soul.

ReMode - Circular Fashion Festival @ Evergreen Brick Works
Location: Evergreen Brick Works, 550 Bayview Ave
Date & Time: Sunday, April 19, 2026 ยท 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM ยท Free
A one-day festival entirely dedicated to the idea that the most sustainable piece of clothing is the one already in your closet - or someone else's.
ReMode takes over Evergreen Brick Works on Sunday with 40+ vendors specializing in resale, upcycled, repurposed, and repaired clothing - zero new clothes, all the good finds. There's also a full afternoon of expert talks running noon to 2pm covering sustainable fashion, hands-on workshops on natural dyeing, sewing, and upcycling hosted by Evergreen Brick Works, and a clothing swap from 2โ4pm where you bring up to 10 items and leave with something new-to-you.
And all of this happens inside one of the most beautiful spaces in the city - a former brick factory transformed into a ravine-side community centre that's worth the trip on its own.
Registration is completely free. The clothing swap is $10 + tax and requires pre-registration separately.
๐ Great for: thrifters, sustainable fashion enthusiasts, anyone who wants a Sunday plan that's actually interesting, and people looking for a genuinely different kind of market experience.

Barkada Mrkt Spring Market @ STACKT
Location: STACKT Market, 28 Bathurst St
Date & Time: Sunday, April 19, 2026 ยท 12:00 PM ยท Free
Barkada Mrkt is back for its third annual spring edition - a Filipino-founded community market celebrating local vendors, makers, and the kind of energy that only comes from a community genuinely showing up for each other.
STACKT is one of Toronto's best outdoor market destinations and in mid-April, the waterfront location is finally starting to feel like spring again. Barkada Mrkt fills it with local vendors, creative makers, food, and a crowd that actually wants to be there - which makes all the difference.
Free to attend, and a great way to wrap up a Sunday while supporting local businesses that don't always get the platform they deserve.
๐ Great for: market lovers, the Filipino-Canadian community and allies, anyone looking for a free and feel-good Sunday afternoon out.
